I'm done here

In the five years that I've been updating Montykins, I've made a total of 673 posts. Put that way, it sounds like a lot, but look at the numbers a little closer, and a disturbing trend emerges. In 2001, I made 228 updates on Montykins.com. In 2002, it was 205. The next year, 153. Then in 2004 and 2005, it was 48 and 37. So far this year, I've updated once. At this point, it's not even true to claim that I update "sporadically", let alone "regularly" or (as it was in the first year) "daily".

When I started Montykins, most of the personal websites out there were journals of some variety or another. Certainly on Damn Hell Ass Kings, that was the style at the time. These days, however, things are more focused. You've got your Comics Blogs, your Political Blogs, and so on. The "random thoughts about whatever comes into my mind" technique has pretty much passed.

So . . . I think I'm done here. I've got a LiveJournal for random, you know, "journally things". I'll probably start up a new site at some point to write about more focused things, but for now, I'm shutting this down.
