About Monty

My name is Monty Ashley, and I live in the Seattle area, working for Wizards of the Coast. I also write for TeeVee and a few other websites, although they're mostly not what you'd call paying gigs. I mean, if you ever use the word "gig".

I don't have any tattoos, piercings, or ritual scars. However, I did once dye my hair. I didn't do it very well, though, because it came out the same color as it went in, which means that the main effect was to make my head stinky. I also don't drink, smoke, or do drugs. That all makes me sound pretty boring, but nothing could be further from the truth: I like books! And toast! And, um, shut up.

Incidentally, I'm not sure whether I should have said "farther" or "further" from the truth, so I decided to let the Internet decide for me. Google has 85,700 pages with "further", but only 14,800 with "farther", so I'm willing to let the majority rule on this issue. That's not a good idea in general, though, because most of the Internet is very bad at spelling.

That previous paragraph is technically a digression, but I think it's important to give people some idea of what to expect. And sometimes I have a tendency to wander off into uncharted territory. That's partly because I get bored, but mostly because I've read a lot of Robert Benchley. You should too.
